| Vision Assistance—Eyeglass Program | |
| Have you ever noticed how many seniors have scratched, worn or broken glasses yet never say anything? Their mobility suffers, and they have great difficulty performing everyday tasks. Sometimes we think they have poor eyesight when what they really have is poor glasses. As they work to manage very limited dollars every month, buying life-saving medications always takes precedence over buying new glasses, especially when the cost would be more than half of their monthly income. As our senior neighbors and friends’ age, the gift of sight is a welcome and valuable one. We help both children in need and the elderly through access to exams, testing, frames and corrective lenses to improve vision. Because this assistance is so highly specialized, it is offered by appointment only. |

Offered on an emergency basis for those who have run out of medication and/or those who have applied for MAP (Medication Assistance Program) and are still within the 120 day waiting period for coverage. Life-saving medications are given priority for assistance, such as: insulin for diabetics, blood pressure medication for heart patients, antibiotics for children, etc. We are unable to receive donated medications due to pharmaceutical regulations; however, we are happy to receive financial donations to support this medication/prescription effort. |
