Family Service, Inc.
Family Service Inc.

Family Service, Inc. has been operating in Yellowstone County, Montana, since 1906, making it one of the longest serving nonprofits in our State. The primary goal of FSI is to provide hope—through preventing homelessness and deep poverty for Yellowstone County residents. Our compassionate services include providing the most basic of needs: food, clothing, and shelter assistance; as well as prescription assistance, transportation (bus passes to get to work), eye-glasses for the elderly; school supplies, clothing and shoes for children, and even emergency funds for auto-repair if it helps an earning adult keep their job.

Where does the money come from?
The greatest portion of our budget is supplied by caring individuals, and we rely on the generosity of our community to meet people’s needs. Our 2nd Hand Treasures Thrift Store plays an important role in generating funds for helping clients, and usable donations for the store are always welcome. Our Dining Out For Life Event generates almost 20% of our operating funds, and is assisted largely by corporate partners in Billings, like local banks and retail stores. Lastly, various grants are received for the work we do, amounting to about 14% of annual funding. (For a list of those granting organizations please continue reading below). We are very thankful that our donors care so much, and help so greatly!
Last year Family Service, Inc. helped over 11,000 families in Yellowstone County!

We could not accomplish this without your help.
