Hunger Prevention—Emergency Food Boxes
Clients can receive a 7 day supply of food for themselves and family members who are experiencing hunger or food insecurity (meaning they may be going without food in order to feed their children and/or pay other outstanding bills). We make every attempt to distribute food which is balanced for all food-groups so that families, especially those with young children or elderly persons, have nutritious foods available.

Do you need food?
Much of our food supply is donated through a Food Rescue Program in tandem with generous local retailers like Albertsons Stores, Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club and various bakeries; and with assistance from the Montana Food Bank Network. Rescued Food is the term used to describe food that is at or nearing pull-date which is still of high quality for placing into the emergency food system. Rather than seeing this food thrown away, last year Family Service, Inc. was able to rescue and redistribute 1.5 Million pounds of food which would otherwise have ended up at the local landfill. Cash donations from the community help supply the funds needed to keep our vehicles going so we can gather food donations from all these local stores.
