Other Services
Many times people need a little help to overcome a minor problem before it escalates to needing help on a much larger scale. In those cases an ‘ounce of prevention’ truly is worth more than ‘a pound of cure’. The following are some of the miscellaneous services we provide to help people get past a minor problem they cannot handle on their own. Other needs are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Household Goods

Many items are donated in good working order which are either placed in our Second Hand Treasures Thrift Store or given without charge to those who have a need. Examples are beds, dressers, lamps, tables, chairs, toasters, sheets/blankets, etc.

In-Town Bus Passes

typically given for someone who needs to get to work or who is earnestly seeking a job but does not have transportation to get to interviews.

Gasoline Vouchers

provided on a limited basis to those who need a little extra help—often a single mother with children who needs to get her kids to the babysitter so she can get to work on time.

Documentation/ID

We understand how it is when you lose things. Many of the people we help have moved often, and misplaced documents that are vital such as a birth certificate or social security card. New Documentation requires filling out forms and paying a fee to receive a replacement ID or Social Security Card. This is where we help. We assist people in filing the form and many times help pay the fee (usually about $25 – $30) so that they can get a job, find an apartment, or access all the types of assistance that might be available to them.
