Is the economy starting to rebound? Subtle signs may be appearing on the horizon, but the low-income families who always feel a downturn first and are the last to feel the recovery are still struggling everyday to make ends meet. We have been seeing more and more first-time clients come through the door, often these families have been long time residents of the area, they have always had a job and have been able to make it on their own without asking for help. The most important message we can convey is that they do not have to feel embarassed or ashamed that they need to come in for assistance. Family Service, Inc. was established in 1906 and in the 104 years of that existance, many changes have taken place, but the one constant is our mission, "Caring for People by Giving a Hand Up not a Hand Out." Our community is very generous and caring, and it can be said that Billings takes care of their Neighbors in Need, and there is no other higher calling than helping others.
Through your on-going generosity, we can continue to help those who are struggling, the ones who have lost their job or had a reduction in workweek hours, or an emergency visit to the hospital with a sick family member. Through your generosity, we can continue to help our neighbors in need.
Thank You,
Paul Chinberg, Director
